my favorite family number, because it's just like mine. i secretly wish it was six....shhhhhhh. photographing a toddler is hard work. my advise when photographing your toddler...just keep clicking! when the toddler is looking and smiling, the brother is blinking. when all eyes are open, the sister is picking the grass. this three kiddos however, were a breeze ;)

this is such a crazy time of year for me, but i love it! i always have the best feeling as i'm driving home from a session, and this time of year i get to do it several times each week! i have a ton to catch up on, so sneak peeks and galleries will be going out daily.
now, i have a feeling this little guy is going to be getting a lot of attention around his house.

fresh. unique. fun. three words i would use to describe my photography. while i believe it's important for my clients to have the posed family image with beautiful smiles, it's so much fun capturing the others! let's face it, your kids and maybe even spouse may not looking forward to getting their picture taken. my mission at a session is for the family to enjoy being a family. we play games, tell jokes, and have fun.

newborn photography. i love, love, love newborn photography. maybe because i've always adored newborn babies, or maybe it's because i get to cuddle, smell and rock these sweet little ones. but they are by far my favorite little subjects to capture. so when should you photograph your newborn baby? 5-7 days old is my preference, but before two weeks is best. at this age they will fall into a deep sleep which allows me to position and naturally pose the baby. after two weeks babies have more alert periods during theday, become a little fussier, and may develop baby acne. if you've passed that two week age, don't wait any longer. your baby will continue to grow and change and before you know it your celebrating a first birthday!
little carter is 13 days old here. restless and not having any of my manipulation. we still managed to get quite a few sweet shots. you may remember his big sister as a newborn, at three months, at six months, at one and last year .

it's that time of year again. for the next few weeks i will be capturing many families priceless memories. i love this time of year...i get to fall in love with my camera over and over again.
so what do you wear for your family session? the next question i am most commonly asked. my answer, be yourself! if you enjoy dressing up, do it. if you wear flip flops everyday, wear them. you can match, coordinate, mismatch...ultimately these images are your little treasures. they will hang on your walls. i would hate for you to be anything but yourself :) for more information on what to wear be sure to sign up for the newsletter. i will be sending out seasonal outfit suggestions.
well look how big this little guy is now! my highlight of the session was when big sister said how much fun it was! and we did have fun, crawling like a kitty, rolling in the grass, scaring mommy and daddy, and talking about stinky feet.

location. usually one of the first questions i'm asked. what location do you recommend? my favorite location is always your home. i love to capture the things that are a part of your life. your bedroom, your toys and books, your kitchen, sofa and front yard, maybe even your bathtub! so you want something outdoors. choose a location that is meaningful to you. last weekend i shot a family session at the same location mom and dad had their engagement session years ago. whatever location your choose...the focus of my photography is on you and your family, capturing your relationships and tellingyour story. so what location do i recommend, anywhere!
this session was shot at a park near this family's home. all shots were taken near the parking lot and the main road. loved this session. remember last wednesday...freezing and windy...dad and son had me cracking up the entire time.

it was only two short years ago that little sam was one. remember these? i'll be back to share three year old sam later, but today i've got to share his identical twin sisters. we spent a good part of the morning playing outside and eating puffs. when we could no longer tolerate the heat we headed back inside to some beautiful morning light in the girls room. almost one and sweet as sugar. i think i can almost tell them apart...can you?

i took another trip to chandler last week to visit this beautiful 16 day old baby boy. he completes this gorgeous family of four.
and i can't leave out the new big sister. we had a great time playing ring around the rosie and reading books. what a doll!
